PLEASE HELP - Quick way to convert XVID to SVCD

This has been driving me nuts.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the easiest way is to play .avi (xvid) files on a LG V782W dvd player.

So far I've been reencoding them with DVD2SVCD and Cinemacraft and burning them as SVCD's. This takes up to 6 hours!

Is there any faster way. I tried using Avi Splitter, and then converting to SVCD format and burning onto CD using NERO, but for some reason my DVD player can't recognise that.

Is there some easier way? I've searched all over, but can't find a solution. PLEASE PLEASE HELP

No. Get a faster computer (processor) to speed things up. That's the only way.

I have actually stumbled upon a much much faster way

1. Split a 750 meg XVID file into 2 parts using AVISPLITTER

2. Convert to mpg (SVCD) using TMPGEnc

3. Burn using NERO

Total time = 20 - 30 mins

Whereas reencoding the entire file can take 6 hours!

2*encode 45 min AVI to MPG takes 20-30 mins, whereas 1*encode a 90 min AVI to MPG takes 6 hours, all else equal? No way, José!
