    5. Added Friends Finale.avi to file to be burn.

Bin and cue is an image file format, not a video format. Try using a better encoder like TMPGEnc and select the VCD template in the project wizard. Take the finished mpeg and drop it into a Nero VCD compilation and burn away.

    i use Nero 6 Express...

in nero express 6, choose Videos then video cd.
add the avi file and click finished...nero 6 will reencode the avi file to vcd format (tmpgenc is a better encoder though)
then click Next, next, then click burn...

    Note to self:
Don't mention the name of the TV show if it is warez. It is against this forum's rules to help you.

    If in doubt, Google it.

    My apologies

That's right, I remember him saying something along the lines of "I do it, so it's sort of hypocritical to stop anyone on this site doing it" or words to that effect. Check out this thread for the response from the masses. Also check out this poll.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  11. Of course, you could always just buy the DVD . I think I got mine on sale at Fry's for about $8, and you get some extra stuff with it.

That's always my philosophy. If you have the time to struggle with converting/authoring/burning something that's available commercially, then work the overtime at your job and buy it. You'll get better quality plus extras (including a nifty case and cover).

That error sounds like there is something fooked up with your computer. It is an Operating System message, sounds like Win98. It makes it easier to sort out problems if we know your computer specs. Please take the time to fill out your Computer Details in your profile.
    If in doubt, Google it.

...especially if it was only $8. By the time you d/l, convert author and burn, you are working for about $4 an hour. Quality of d/l is always a concern too.

    Anyway...

The error you describe is a OS error, typefied by Win95 and Win98/98SE. For future reference, it is helpful to us if we can look at your computer's specs. Please fill these in under Computer Details in your profile at your earliest convenience. Generally a defrag can fix problems such as this, but on the odd occasion a reinstall is necessary.

Once you have the AVI, it would be wise to check if the file has VBR audio and if it has bad frames. You can do this using VirtualDub-mp3, and using the guide here. If you have VBR audio, a message will come up when you open the AVI asking if you wish to convert it to CBR. Say Yes or OK to this. Follow the guide to check for bad frames.

Once you have your "new" AVI, start TMPGEnc. Close the wizard if it opens. Load either the PAL or NTSC VCD/SVCD (whichever one you want to do) template and load your AVI. If you need to tweak some settings, load the unlock template and tweak away.

Click the start button and let TMPGEnc do its thing. Once finished, use Nero in Express mode. Follow the screens to do a VCD/SVCD and add the file that TMPGEnc created. You don't mention if you are using a newer or older version of Nero so it is hard to describe word for word the steps you need to take.

Again, All this to save $8 ??? I guess if it is a hobby, then all power to you.

You must be patient and willing to learn (and read) if you want to get anywhere in the video world.

    See how you go.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Great ! Thanking you...

XP putting up that error, eh ? You might want to reinstall TMPGEnc, because that sort of thing shouldn't be happening, although ti does indicate that there might be something wrong with the AVI file, as I mentioned in my previous post.
    If in doubt, Google it.
