Just wondering if anyone can help I am sure I copied a slideshow onto a cd for a friends wedding with "fit to music" and all, from iphoto about 12 months ago but since then I have bought ilife 3 & 4 and this option dosen't seem available, I have tried toast 6 quicktime version of slideshow and I dont think much of it as it is a quicktime movie not a real slideshow like the iphoto slideshow
someone has asked me to put some photos together with music on a cd and I said yes thinking I could do it on iphoto, WRONG!! any ideas, was this able on earlier versions of iphoto?? are there other apps that will do it for cross platform?

I am confused about what you are asking.

Does iPhoto 4 have slideshow option - Yes
Does iPhoto 4 let music play during slide show - yes
Does iPhoto 4 have "fit to music" option - Unsure, i dont remember where it was with v3 but if you click SLIDE SHOW on the bottom tab, then MUSIC you get all the music options for that slideshow

  6. If you want to give an iPhoto slideshow to someone how you do this depends on their system and software. If they have iPhoto you can copy the stills and music to a disc and have them import all the files, then they can run it. iPhoto does not produce an independent slideshow in its own format. If you want a self running show, regardless whether or not they have iPhoto, then you have to make a QT mov or a web page. The iPhoto QT export option makes a very high quality, very small slideshow w/music if you like. This will run on any computer with QT player installed. (you could even include the PC and Mac versions of QT on your disc) The web option is really for online work and is manual advance - but doesn't actually need to be online to function.
There is really no other option using only iPhoto.

  7. I think iDVD4 can import and burn iPhoto slideshows...not sure about the "fit to music" option.

If you need to put it on CD, you can make the QT movie option in iPhoto mentioned above by using File>Export ... then select the QT tab ... but you will have to manually set the slide time to fit the music. You might also look into SnapzPro for saving iPhoto slideshows.

  8. Yes, CB is right. Forgot about the iDVD option. You can burn a dvd of an iPhoto 4 slideshow. You can of course just make a slideshow in iDVD also.
