Need help Plz!

ok so i made a dvd of different tv episodes.....converted them.....authored them......burned it to a dvd-r......it plays fine on my PC dvd player perfectly!........i pop it in my stand alone dvd player and it plays the intro( i have a .mpg playing in the background ) till it hits 13 secnds and freezes.i try to hit play before the 13 seconds and still freezes. i thought it might be the mpg playing in the background so i authored another one without the mpg and it still freezes when i hit play! wtf...ive played 3 other burnt dvds fine on my dvd player yet these 3 coasters i made dont want to work .Also this dvd i made i didnt use up all the space, i had like 200 mb's left. dont know if this is a problem when reading in stand alone dvd players.......any HELP would be greatly appreciated.

What brand of discs are you using? Are these captures you did yourself or originally AVI format files? It could have been a bad source, in any event, or the media you are using may have been damaged or poorly manufactured. Just because 1 or 2 will work doesn't mean every disc in the spindle is going to.

using maxell dvd-r
the files were originally avi
they play fine on my pc but it doesnt in my dvd player....i just dont get it and i have no more dvd-r's......
