I record tv programs of the tv through my medion capture card in mjpeg.
Great capture no problems at this point. I load the file into vertual dub to remove the adverts and would like to convert to divx- mp3 for arciving .

The problem is the mp3 sound. Anything compressed below 96 kbts the speach is slow and above this value it starts to record OK but after a veriable time jumps out by maybe a second or 2 during the converstion .
I have tryed on 2 machines and get exactly the same problem one running XP the other Windows 2000. Using the latest lame mp3 codac. All background programs have been disabled.
