  1. Hey All,

I did some of my own research and testing this weekend to determine my own best path regarding editing (ie: titles, transitions, clipping) of MPEG files and creation of final DVD compliant MPEGs. (No AVI's)

I would love to know everyone else's best choice for a MPEG Editor (to edit and create final MPEG file)

and what is your favorite MPEG flavor. ie: 6000 fixed or 6000 vbr rates.

    Thanks TJ

  2. the BEST encoding software is Canopus Procoder...but that is only for encoding....

for editing, Adobe premiere or Ulead MediaStudio pro.......

I still use Ulead VideoStudio 7 , it's not that professional, but I like it.

Womble MPEG Video Wizard. For authoring I use Ulead DVD Movie Factory 2.

720x480 MPEG2 - VBR, of course Bitrate depends on how much I need to fit onto one disc. Usually 5 - 7 Mbps average.

  4. Mainconcept for encoding. Fast and good quality.
DVDLab for Authoring/burning. More options than I'll ever need.

I tried the Womple MPEG Editor the weekend... It is great for cutting or combinig clips but when I tried to use their transitions or titles the final MPEG stuttered between the transitions and titling... have you run into that problem
