  1. My WMP or any other media player wont play .avi files of any kind, even if there is NO compression. What do I need to do? i have tried several downloaded files, and also using wintv card, capturing with NO compression, that won't play either, it gives me an error report. any ideas?

what does the error message say? you can use a program called gspot to indentify what codecs are used, then go download those codecs.

Try the program Avicodec, I just used it and downloaded the appropriate codec so my AVI files will play on Windows Media Player and everything else as well.

  4. Maybe the priority of the "AviSplitter.ax" has been altered by another application.

    Try this at command prompt:
    REGSVR32 AviSplitter.ax

Did you try Media Player Classic? It uses its own AviSplitter.

Yes, use Media Player Classic -- If you don't have the neccessary codec(s), it'll tell you what you need and where to get it.

  6. Yeah, maybe Media Player classic first, then try the filter.
