rite lads and ladess's lol first off brand new system:
xp2400 cpu
winxp
nec 1300a 4x dvd rw
512mb ddr
120gb hdd
and a 16x dvd drive
basicaly i was trying to copy one of my dvds to work out how to do it and when i installed nero i used dvd decrypt to get the info and shrink to make it smaller then when i try to burn it in either shrink or nero i get power calibration error, no if i used intervideo dvdcopy 2 it burned fine and i made a backup of a dvd allworked ok. but the trail ran out.
ive done some research and people try to blame the media to what ur writing onto now that cant b the case in this cos it has worked im using the yellow datawrite dvd disks. a 350w psu

Power callibration is a media issue.Try writing it at a slower speed.I have some media that will give this error at 4x but will work at 2x.

even tho the media has 1x 2x and 4x written on the disk? -
yeh shrink was set to burn on maximum speed so i notched it down to 2x and its burning as we speak
next time ill try 4x (speed of the burner)
