  1. I'm currently using dvd fab to split a dvd9 to 2 dvd4's. I use dvd decryptor to rip the movie into my harddrive and then use dvdfab to split them. I have one problem. There are 2 movies that I have in my harddrive that have been decrypted from a DVD. I'm trying to split them with DVD Fab but I keeps telling me that I can't find a split point. What can I do? is there a new freeware version of dvdfab or some other program that will allow me to do this? please let me know.

  2. Download AnyDVD (slysoft.com) and CloneCD 2. Pick the top button on the main menu and use the scissors to select or cut out the chapters. decide to preserve the menu (check or uncheck a dedicated button on screen two), burn disk. Burn 2nd disk with chapters left out. 21 day trail ware.

Why not use DVDShrink in Reauthor mode?

Split the movie into two separate folders. Burn the first folders' VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders to a DVDR. Then do the same for the second folder. You won't get working menus, but who gives a crap.

Yes. If you don't compress anything, theoretically you're getting as close to an exact duplicate as your gonna get.

i was reading the toutorial and it seems that dvd shrink allows you to copy the main movie only when you're in author mode and it will compress a dvd9 into a dvd4. i want to split a dvd9 into 2 dvd4

You need to do this thru Reauthor mode by making two copies. First copy would be the first half of the movie and the second the second half. You'll be making two separate folders. Name the folders accordingly. Then burn each one to a separate DVDR. Look under the guides. There is tons of information on this great site.

    Here's a great guide to split a DVD9 to two DVDR's

Note that you don't need the other two pieces of software if you don't need a "Insert Disc 2" Clip.

  12. No such thing as a DVD4, its DVD-5 (or DVDR-5 to some)

  14. Hi all.

A user-friendly guide to split a DVD9 to two DVD-R(W)s using DVD Shrink can be found here.

It was made with v2.3 but the principal is the same whether you use v3.0b5 or v3.1.x.
You should also have enough space on the second disc to add all the extras.

P.S: when Re-authoring, an "Insert disc 2" title can be added at the end of the first disc.
Some suitable titles can be found at http://www.dvdshrink.info/goodies.php
