  1. i have now backed up my dvd but it wont play on my home dvd player but it will play on my pc through media player

    any suggestions ?

    i have used dvd shrink to shrink my dvd it then asked me to insert a blank disc it then made a perfect copy of the movie i thn tryed to play it on my home dvd player and it would not work i tried to play it on my pc and it played fine can anyone help with this problem

    Click on the DVD Players box to the left of this webpage and see if the media you're using is compatible with your player.

    It may be the burner program you used. If you use Nero, set the next DVD to be burned using UDF 1.02. It is a more backward-compatible format.

  4. It's probably a media issue, assuming your standalone can play dvdr's.

    What media are you using ?

  5. media could be the problem, i agree. my standalone will not play -R but will play +R, very odd. of course if it won't play either one, the standalone is probably not compatible, too old, etc
