I have a new RH2T250 HDD/DVD recorder that appears to have a number of issues. Some may be due to pilot error but one that clearly isn't is its inability to play DVD's. I successfully played one DVD and have been unable to play another. It doesn't matter whether it is "store bought" or a DVD-R, the result is a "no disc" message on my TV.
All discs play perfectly on my $39.00 DVD player.
Thanks for the assistance.

Take it back where you bought it and get a new one. This kind of problem is almost certainly a laser issue and will require a repair or replacement. If it's new then it should still be under factory warranty and you should have no problems exchanging it.
