  1. Lately i downloaded a avi movie files, which i think comes with dts sound, with that, i cant convert the whole avi to mpg.
Using avicodec, i arrived at this
    File : 702 Mb (700 Mb), duration 0:41:50, type AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality 86 %
    Video : 474 Mb, 1586 Kbps, 23.976 fps, res. 640*352 (16:9), DIV3 = DivX v3 MPEG-4 (Low-Motion), Supported
    Audio : 225 Mb, 754 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 5 chan., 0x2001 = Unknown, Unsupported.

I dont know what the format of the sound is in, but i suspect its should be in dts as the file name end with this 'DivX.dts-K2.avi'

If you don't have any sound when you play the avi, you need an ac-3 filter. Use Goldwave to create a wav file of the avi's audio. Use the wav file as your audio source when converting to mpeg. If you want to maintain the ac-3 sound in your mpeg that's going to require more work.
