  2. If you have an editing software, you can use your still background, such as a jpg, and add your audio in the editing sw. Then encode it to an mpg file with audio. You can add the mpg to the background the same way you would add a jpg.

If you don't have an editing sw, you can use TMPGEnc to add sound to a jpg and make an mpg video out of it. From the file menu select "MPG Tools", from the upper tabs select "Merge & Cut". In the drop down menu select MPEG2, and for Video input select your jpg instead. Select your Audio too. The click on the run button.

Or you can use a video clip and add your menu audio to it to make a motion background.

so far so good except My main menus is 2:45 long. If I set motion time to 2:45 then the chapters show that motion for 2:45 when I only want 10 seconds for those... IT appears there is no way to choose seperatly? Perhaps in a newer version of tmpgenc DVD author in the futre?

  4. This is what I think you're doing. You music is 2:45 long. Your menu background is just a still picture. You're making a video of the jpg and the audio that is also 2:45 long. But you only want your menu to be 10 sec long. Am I understanding it correctly? If that is the case, I think you should trim the audio to 10 sec before you start muxing it with the jpg.

I just use my video editor, which is Studio 8, to eidt and trim the audio as well. You can use an audio editor to do it, such as a wave editor. But is gets complicated. I just bring in mp3 to Studio 8. Then I trim it to length. Then I encode it and select audio only. It just gives me an mp2 file. Or, I could add the jpg right there and make the background mpg in one step.

    Good luck.

  5. In addition to this, is there a way that I can use TDA to simply cut approx 10 secs from the footage I am authoring and use that as the motion thumbnail for my track and chapter selections.

I have looked at the guides for TDA, are there any more advanced ones around that really look into advanced menu creation?

    Cheers

  6. Hello Again

I have just answered my own question regarding the moving menus, it was simpler that I thought.

Moving on though, is there a way to import a section of sound/music for the 15 seconds or so that I have the menu running for?

    Cheers
