I don't. Let me tell you why and if anybody knows a place where they sell defect-free Ridata G04s, PLEASE let me know.
I went through dvdrhelp's media list and Ritek dvd-rs seem to be one of the most compatible. I haven't had much problems regarding dvd player compatibility(except players that don't support dvd-r) but I have found a problem that other users should know(if they don't already).
I've purchased Riteks from various sources(meritline, allmediaoutlet, blank-cd-cdr.com, newegg, etc./silver or silver matted(Ridata branded matted ones are better)) for the past 6 months totaling more than 1000 of them, and unfortunately I have never received a clean pack with less than 10 defective discs(per 50 disc/pack)
I carefully check the dye before burning anything to ensure quality. It's hard to find, but there are blots of dye in the discs that can cause pixelation or pause in video. If you haven't checked so, please try it under bright light(preferably with a magnifying glass)and see how many defective discs come out. If you thought your G04s were the best, you probably will think it again after going through them.
So far, the G04s in the same pack had inconsistent patterns in the dye and the defect rate was rather high(30-70%). From the most recent order, I had 2 packs with mixed dye patterns and 2 packs with consistent(barely any) patterns. The consistent dye had less defects(10-30%) but still, there are defects in them.
If these discs are noticable through the human eye, I'm sure there's a way Ritek can sort out the bad ones through quality control, but I think then, their yield rate would be too low for profit. That's probably why they have a long return/or money back guarantee rate. In other words, if the customer can't find a defect, they just sell'em.
It's the same with the other discs(including retail packed ones) I have purchased. I have NOT FOUND a disc that I can 100% say that they are reliable. If any of you out there know a truly reliable source for 4x dvd-rs please let me and other people know where we can find them. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU KNOW OF A DEFECT-FREE 4x DVD-R SOURCE.... PLEASE post them in this thread... thanks!!
