Hey guys, I have an 9 Gig Mpg file that I am going to have to split it up in two to put them in 2 dvd-r's.
However, I see in the blank dvd-r's that I get, they say: 6 Hours in EP mode, 4 Hours in LP mode, 2 Hours in SP mode and 1 hour in XP mode.
Is this only applicable to stand alone DVD recorders that record from TV? or is this posible also possible with Computer burners? Given that I am only being able to fit an hour and 15 minutes or more into a DVD-r for now.
Thanks
Copiche

It's for settop recorders. They are probably trying to help novices by comparing times with VHS tapes. With TMPGEnc or other encoders you can change the bitrate and the video size to do more or less the same thing. If you use TMPGEnc and the Wizzard you can see some of the options.
