  1. M-JPEG codecs are not giving to me the maximum quality, even in "20" i'm not getting the the exact same image quality of the source.

    Something strange is happenning on the image when i increase the gamma to a very high level, and the artifacts are visible with these codecs.

    I't doesn't happend with RGB uncompressed and YUY2 uncompressed and realtime DV capturing.

    The problems is that i can't use this methods cause it take to much hard disk space. So... if you know about any other codec as well compressed as JPEG but with a clear image as RGB uncompressed, let me know.

  3. huffyuv takes more space than capturing directly to DV.

    in terms of space and quality, between huffyuv and DV, i prefer DV.


    Are you sure, there is no other codec, very similar to M-JPEG, but with a pure clean image equal to the source ?

    Cause i'm not just capturing, i also want to use the codec, to save some video editing projects, and every time i recompress, i lose some quality.
