  1. i have a collection of videos that are both mpg and avi... to burn them all to dvd i have to convert the avi ones to mpg... i only have 2 programs pinnacle studio 8 se and tmpgenc.... whats the easiest way to convert these avis to mpg without alot of programs and hassle

  2. I too have both programs. I have been using Studio 8 SE for about a month or so now and have had no problems with letting it encode the avi captures to mpeg-2 and then burning them to DVD. Not one coaster yet! TMPGEnc will also do the same process, although I think only the Plus version supports MPEG-2, don't know which one you have. It is really a preference thing for me. Pinnacle may take a little longer, but all files can be contained in one program, you don't have to jump from using one program to the other. And I have had no problems with Studio 8 SE. Keep checking out the site, there are some great guides here to help you with everything that you need!

  3. cant you give an easy way to do it in pinnacle then? i havent found it anywhere in the help

  4. You can input those clips I believe in the capture tab or edit tab and then you can go to the "make movie" tab and output them to an mpeg file. You should have that option in the "make movie" area. It may take a bit of time, but eventually it will convert your avi files to mpegs.

  5. I would convert them all through tmpgenc first.
