Does anybody know why I get a green video screen (audio is ok) when I convert from avi to VCD (mpeg1)? It only does this on some of my avi files.. others are ok. BTW, I am using Canopus ProCoder 1.5.

I'd bet they are!
In that case, use ffdshow - solved all XviD blues (greens?) for me...

you are right... I installed it and everything works great.... It's weird because the original avi played back no problem before I installed the codec. Once I installed it, I could encode the file no problem.
