Everything was peachy, but recently problems have arisen...
Now, when I try to back up a movie, I get read errors. The movie rips fine, but when I try to actually write the DVD-R, it bombs out with read errors. This has occured in two different versions of DVD X Copy, Burnatonce, and CopyToDVD.
I think it's a software or driver problem (what is this Patin-Couffin stuff, anyway?) because, to test, I wrote a DVD from a couple of MPEGS using Easy CD Creator, and that seemed to work fine.
Errors include such things as:
-----------------------------------------------
1/5/2004 11:34:26 PM error Write failed
1/5/2004 11:34:09 PM info Finalizing CD ..
1/5/2004 11:34:09 PM error WriteSector failed at sector 7008 (16) - Code 03 02 00 [Medium error, Unable to seek the requested position]
1/5/2004 11:34:04 PM error Writeerror detected at sector 6832 (16) - Trying to recover ...

1/5/2004 11:33:47 PM error Writeerror detected at sector 2512 (16) - Trying to recover ...
1/5/2004 11:33:04 PM info Start Write Buffer
1/5/2004 11:33:04 PM info Start writing...
----------------------------------------------------------
and
-----------------------------------------------------------
0040B4F0: Writing Movie:58
0040B4F0: Writing Movie:58
0040B4F0: Finished.
0040B4F0: Writing failed (write error or process aborted):
0040B4F0: Drive is not ready
-----------------------------------------------------------
I've also seen error number 02030C00h arise with the same general info.
I've tried this with two different types of media with no change (started testing with some DVD+RW's after making some coaster DVD-R's).
Help!
