Cutterman Errors

I am new to video editing. i have a pile of TV shows I want to cut the commercials out of.....I have been experimenting with Comskip and Cutterman. When I run cutterman it works on some shows and others it gives an error referring to Invalid value for scrollbar background.

Any way around this error?

Any other suggestions on free or real cheap s/w to cut comercials? I have an older version of Sony Vegas, can I script soemthing for it?

I like videoredo for mpeg cutting. Not free though. You could try mpeg2schnitt also.

Thanks for the lead to mpeg2schnitt...do you know if there is any English versions of the help available? I have been stumbling through with some bablefish translation, but it is slow.
