.vobs to dvd+r

ok i have the vobs and ifo off the dvd swat but not the disc anymore how can i compress or shrink these to get them to a dvd+r disc

I'm assuming that you don't have the disk anymore because it got destroyed in the middle of your backup, you lost it or it was misplaced.

yes i lost it ill try the dvd shrink now

what do i use to burn after that

ok i used dvd shrink but when i select the ifo it says cannot find the file specified??? like it cant open it or somthing

I use RecordNow Max. The result of running dvdshrink is a directory named VIDEO_TS with new VOBs and IFOs. You will need to create an empty AUDIO_TS directory at the same level as the VIDEO_TS directory and put these two directories onto your DVD. Most DVD recorders come with code to record to the disk. If you don't have code to burn a DVD, I hear the DVDDecrypter can do the job as well. I'm sure you can find a guide at this site to explain the entire process.

I'd say that your problem is that you ripped in IFO mode. You should've ripped in File Mode and get all the files. I'm betting that you are missing valuable files like VIDEO_TS.* and VTS_*_0.VOBs. Can you provide exactly what files you have? As this is much needed important information.

If you can't get your original DVD back, you may have to settle for a movie only backup using DVD Shrink's re-authoring.

Your IFO should be the same # as your VOB. e.g.

VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_01_3.VOB
VTS_01_4.VOB

Open VTS_01_0.IFO with DVD Shrink. Click on reauthor button and drag your movie title into DVD compilation area. Dragging technique will differ on what version you are using so use the approriate guide for it.

its having a problem reading the ifo file

and wont open it


is there a way i can compress these files with tmpgenc or somthing and loose some quality but still somhow put it to a dvdr disc?
