I used to control my ATI A-I-W 7200 with MMC 7 "recording computer" over my home LAN (and from outside LAN as well) using Msoft NetMeeting's Remote Desktop Sharing option. (It works best from everything I've tried so far)
Unfortunately I had to temporarily give up my MMC7.7.0.1 for MMC8 lately for its possibility of setting up multiple personal capture profiles (gotta record few tv series in 3 different formats for different people, geez, why everybody just don't switch to DVD-Rs already...)
Now whenever I "activate Remote Desktop Sharing and exit NetMeeting" my MMC 8.8 doesn't start, bitchin bout driver problem and wants to run its stoopid 'pc check' or whatever pops up :/
Im suspecting the culprit must be MMC8.8's new "EazyShare" feature which you can't just NOT install during the MMC installation process (I tried - even if you unselect it during Custom Install option, it is still installed in its "Client" version, Add/Remove Programs - Modify doesn't help, stupid stubborn thing still stays there when I check later in Configuration, and obviously setting it up as Server doesn't help either).
As always ATI have no comments nor solutions nor even simple "foff" reply (2 emails sent in past 2 weeks, no reply yet)...
I need remote access to this 'PVR' PC and MMC8 running in the same time; and I can't remove that MMC8.8 there for some time (I will just uninstall it and go back to MMC7 later).
Anyone with some idea how to fix it quick? I dont wanna buy PC Anywhere etc tools just for next few days.
