i recently got a plextor px708A. upgraded firmware to 1.04 immediately upon installation, and burned +/- 30 DVD+Rs using a wide variety of software and methods. all with verbatim +R media

decrypter / clonedvd / copy to dvd
decrypter / dvd2one / copy to dvd
decrypter / dvdshrink / copy to dvd
decrypter / IC7 / decrypter

i had success with each of these processes. i only made one coaster, and that was with XCOPY Xpress.

anyway, on 12/31 i backed up one movie and all was good, then every other disk i've attempted to burn (starting with later that day) ends up with a burn error. i tried each of the above methods, and all yielded burn errors. i've made 7 or 8 coasters in the last 2 days.

things i tried:
reripping the source material
redoing the 1.04 firmware update
uninstalling and re-installing the plextor drive.
changing media from verbatim to memorex

i don't think that the problem is in the ripping, since the transcoding software are able to make DVD files & images without an apparent problem.

does anybody have any ideas as to what the problem might be? obviously, the default answer is there could be some problems with the burner.

if it matters, my DVD-ROM is a liteon XJHD166, and i'm running decrypter 3.1.9
