    brushuk,

The burn problem is almost certainly being caused either by your burning drive not being in DMA mode, or the inferior media you used. The first thing you should do is get the drive into DMA mode. Here's how to do that (ignore the part that applies to the Primary IDE controller, as yours is already using DMA...just do the Secondary IDE controller):
Right click on [My Computer] and select [Properties] from the menu. Click [Device Manager] on the [Hardware] tab, then click to open the [IDE ATA/ATAPI (hard disk) controllers] section. You will find: the Primary IDE Channel controller, Secondary IDE Channel controller. Complete the following procedure:

    1. Right click on the Primary IDE controller and select [Properties] from the menu.
    2. Select the [Advanced Settings] tab. Check that the [Transfer Mode] for both devices is set to [DMA if available].
    3. Repeat this for Secondary IDE controller.
That may let you complete a burn, but using 4th class media like that is never going to work well. You should get good results using any of the media rated as 1st class on this page at the nomorecoasters website. Even though better media costs more initially, by the time you factor in the waste produced by bad media (and the borderline quality of the burns that do work), good media is a better deal.

It probably isn't a factor in this instance, but your Iomega drive is using version 0052 firmware. This page at the Iomega website has version 0060 available for your "DVDRW IDE1008" drive. The newer firmware is likely to work better with newer media.

Since this was your first post here, welcome to VideoHelp.

  3. If you still have problems after using VegasBud's suggestions, you might want to use a recent build of Nero. Your version (Nero Version: 7.0.0.0) had many many bugs. Another option would be to use imgburn (free)

Also make sure that you are not doing anything (like surfing or playing games, multitasking) while burning, because if your system specs are correct, 512MB system ram might cause you experience buffer underruns even with the "nero buffer"

    Physical memory : 511MB (523760kB)
    Free physical memory: 45MB (46628kB)
    Memory in use : 91 %
    Good Luck
