I just bought a new APEX 2600 dvd player as a secondary player because my Denon 1600 will not read svcd.

I just hooked up my new 2600. Whatever disc I put in (commercial DVD, VCD, SVCD), it refuses to read ANY of them. All I get is the message UNDISC.

On screen, I get the Apex screen with message Unknown Disc at the top.

    Help?

    or

    RMA?
    My system:
    Abit Ic7G
    P4 3.0C @ 3.98 GHz
    2x512 MB DDR 500 ram
    WinXP Pro
    ATI Radeon X800pro
    5x120 GB Western Digital ata100

RMA it back to APEX. I RMA a APEX 1500 earlier in the year. It didn't take that long to get it repaired and shipped back to me. I was still within the warranty period. I had to pay for the shipping cost to return it to them. They pay for the shipping when they return it to you. You need to contact APEX to get a RMA number. Good Luck.

I had a APEX 1500 that lasted 3 years, worked great, played everything and it was cheap. Just died last week. The biggest problem with APEX has been quality control. If it doesn't work, send it back.

That unit should play just about anything. It's good bang for the buck.
It must be defective. Bring it back where you got it and get an exchange. I don't know about your dealer but in Ontario Canada, Future Shop gives a no questions asked over the counter warranty exchange on Apex products.
