  1. Please help,

I am a newbie to DVD burning. I purchased a Pioneer DVR106D with firmware 1.07, using DVD Shrink 2.3 and Nero 6.0.0.0. The shrink was fine but the burn at 2x and 1x resulted in the following error. Please help

PS. I was successful using IMG Tool Classic .90 Build 8 and DVD DeCrypter after the shrink. But I'd rather have 2 steps to burn instead of 3.

    Thanks in advance

  3. I sugest that you upgrade to the most current version of Nero 6. This should fix the problem.

Got the same problem, upgraded Nero onto the latest version 6.0.0.19, but I still had the same error.

Thought it might be that the file was too big, so I shrunk it again, this time the DVD burned OK, but when I wanted to play it on the standalone players I've got it gave me the following error: "parental violation"..

So if anyone got any good suggestions, I'll be waiting.. tnx.

  5. Just upgraded to Nero 6.0.0.23 version, still receiving the same error as above. Tired of making coasters (5 so far). Gonna stick to Shrink 2.3, then IMG tools, then DVD Decrypter. I would like to keep it to 2 steps instead of 3 if possible, if anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated.

2 solutions that really works for me:

    1. Use DVDDecrypter, DVDshrink and burn with RecordNowMax, but

    2. I want to do the job in one pass and still be in control what I want to have on the DVD. So I use AnyDVD (bypasses the security of the DVD). This neat little program sits on your comp and you don't have to rip the DVD. When inserting the DVD I use CloneDVD, which cannot open locked DVD's, but with AnyDVD it's no problem. After that I put a blanc DVD in my burner and press GO.. within 2 hours the DVD is backuped...

    Hope this will help you.

I had the same problem with nero a couple of weeks back. It seemed like the file nero was trying to burn to the disk was to big for the disk.
I ran dvdShrink over the file again to get it down to 4.35GB and this burnt ok. I will jut keep all my file sizes to this limit and all should be ok.

My experiences with Nero are just not quite good, therefore I would suggest that you consider trying another burn program like RecordNowMax (former Primo Prassi).. It can't hurt to try. And if you find one that will work, you can stick with that.

Tip: Try to burn first on a DVD-RW. If it doesn't work, you can erase it and try other options. Otherwise you could lose a lot of DVD's.

  10. Well here's my latest update:

Moved my burner to another pc, instead of Shrink 2.3 I used latest ver 3.0 Beta 5. Instead of Nero 6.0.0.23, I used Nero 5.5 with latest patch (also removed the crive from USB 2.0 encloser and physically connected in bay, hmmm?) . Viola, all worked fine, BUT when I went back to original PC and used Shrink 3.0 Beta 5 and uninstalled Nero 6.0 and reinstalled Nero 5.5, I got the same blasted error. Arghh (6th coaster)

PS: I did try to burn on a DVDR+W successfully before the burn onto a DVD-R. This is too weird, PLEASE ANY RECOMMEDATIONS WOULD BE GREAT. Getting frustrated and wasting DVD's.

Hmm, again I would suggest you to move to another burn program. It's worth the try believe me... I'm burning DVD's as easy as can be without any errors..
You can pm me if you want further details...

  12. It happened with me too. I discovered the problem. In my case, it was a virtual drive program that I used to emulate a DVD unit from an ISO file. I've removed it and everything is working well now.
