I am having issues since last night of not being able to burn a DVD Data Disc containing Divx files... I keep getting the error "Could not perform end of Disc-at-once"... I suspect that it may be that my writer, that is only 2 weeks old, is not liking the discs that I am using... Verbatim AZO 16X. They were only $12.99 for a 50 pack and I guess I should have known better... You get what you pay for...

Anyway, I am pasting the log from the last disc that I tried to burn and would appreciate and advice or insight on this matter.

    Thank you, Patrick

Do yourself a favor and download Prassi Ones and do a "data mastering" (burn a data disc) with it instead. It is small, has no junkware and is a fully functional 30 day trial.
This will also test your theory of a bad drive.

Thanks! I tried "Ones" and I have been able to burn a few discs with it, but my Pioneer DVD Writer failed to even recognize 3 of the Verbatim Advance AZO 18x discs so far... My question is... Would you, if in my shoes, return the Pioneer Drive before the 30 days is up and exchange for a different writer (In 3 years, my HP external writer performed like a trooper until it finally gave out) or is it possible, that the media sucks?

    Thanks again!

The Pioneer burned the discs correctly with Prassi Ones but then could not recognize the finished product?
    OR
The Pioneer couldn't recognize the blank Verbatim before burning....even with/in Prassi Ones?

The Pioneer couldn't recognize the blank Verbatim before burning....even with/in Prassi One... I am going to buy a different brand of media in the morning and try it... when I first bought the pioneer writer, it had no problem at all with Maxell media.

    Thanks!

from looking at your burn log is your PIONEER 112D housed in a external case? if you're using a external case for it that could be your problem. usually when using a external case you won't be able to burn at high speeds, at the most you'll be able to burn at 12x speed. the VERBATIM dvd media you're using is fine. try burning at 8x or 12x speed. also not all external cases will work with dvd burners depending on the chipset of the case. external cases with the PROLIFIC chipset will work well with most dvd burners. from what i've read the PIONEER drives are fussy when using a external case.

before you decide if your drive is defective try hooking it up internally in your computer and make sure you're using a 80 wire ide cable with the drive otherwise it will not work correctly.

Remove any other usb devices from pc .
Disable "autorun" feature for burner .
Disable "power options" to never for all .
    Disable screensaver .
    Try burn again .

    16x at 8x max , or even 4x if allowed .

Check usb cable is rated for usb2 .
