hi..
i've been burning a few dvds lately...
and i was wondering if there is any chance that i can damage my hard drive if I author o copy dvds frecuentely?
(I mean it by the large amount of data that dvd copy or authoring need)

Why would you think that it would damage your HD? 4.7Gbytes of data is not all that much.

Some computers can be ok and not affected, the risk is always there.
If you done something stupid, not normal, such as not in order of app version, for example going back to an earlier release from the later version then it can mean big trouble.
This happened to me going from NAV2002 back to NAV2001 and this damaged the network/Internet settings and I have to clean re-install the hard drive. Just common sense go to the later version always.
Unpluging the power of the computer when processing is another stupid act as this is very risky.
The hard drive you using and this depends what you've got, how old is it, what make? I think the DVD copy would use the CPU more than the hard drive.
Can your computer cope with the work? Does your com freeze or crash? Again, this depends on what you've got?
You should defrag the drive every now and then.
