  1. I just started using Cinema Craft Encoder to convert .avi files to vcd and svcd formats but to my chagrin, i learned that CCE does not multiplex audio and video.

Can anyone recommend efficient multiplexing software for use in conjunction with Cinema Craft Encoder?

  2. BBmpeg can multiplex most types of Mpeg 1 and 2 and has settings for VCD and SVCD.

If your audio values in the .AVI file are 41khz, why don't you encode straight to .MPG, rather than doing a secondary step of multiplexing?? Especially for those formats?
Use CBR encoding, with PS checked, and set your audio values..

But otherwise, yes, BBmpeg rocks for multiplexing.........

If your encoding VCD, simply select MPEG-1 (SS : Video + Audio). You'll get a multiplexed MPEG-1 stream. There is an option for MPEG-2 to do this, but it forces you to use CBR encoding: MPEG-2 (PS : Video + Audio), which isn't always optimal. I always use multipass VBR to maximize quality and space. For those situations, I always use TMPGenc to do my multiplexing. I find the interface a bit easier than BBMpeg for simpler multiplexing jobs.
