  1. Hi

I finally backed up my first DVD using the VIDEO_TS folder and the AUDIO_TS folder and. The DVD plays fine on my DVD drive on my computer, but doesn't play on my DVD player. The DVD player says that it isn't the correct format. Is it my DVD player? Its around 3 years old. What am I doing wrong. It took me about a week to figure out how do backup a DVD, and now this.

    Thanks

Look up your player here (you have not named it) https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers

see if it's listed & whether it likes + or -

  3. My player is a Panasonic A110. It plays DVD's backed up with DVDXCOPY fine, but doesn't play when I try to fit a DVD9 onto 1 DVD. I follow the instruction to the letter, but I still don't know what I'm doing wrong. I use DVD shrink and nero, as well as copytoDVD. I think I'm doing something wrong when trying to burn but can't figure it out.

Don't know what you may be doing wrong, but you'll get more help if you go back and edit the title of your post to reflect your question more accurately. :c)

Lots of people skip over those that just say "Help".

    More details,

I'm using memorex 4X RW DVD+R media with an LG GSA-4040B. 1 GHZ CPU. I've tried several times using the instructions on the forum but can't seem to burn a DVD properly. I have no pronblem when using DVDXCOPY.

I have an A120 and I haven't had any problems with +R media (namely Memorex 4x +R - manufactured by Ricoh) playing on it, I have had some problems with -R though, mainly Verbatims, some Riteks and, of course, Princo.

However, seeing that you have an even older A110, it is quite possible that it may not even like +R media.

FWIW, I too have an LG GSA 4040 burner.

Your standalone might not like +R discs. I have the same burner. I recently burned a movie sample for a female I know, and the sample was on a Ritek G04 -R disc. It didn't play in her standalone. I then burned the same movie sample on an HP 4x +R disc and it played fine in her standalone. Her standalone is the very first I've run across that won't play -R discs, and I'm assuming it won't play ANY -R's, because the sample I used was a Ritek. It's not going to get much better than that as far as disc quality.

I think what we really need is to know WHICH instructions your using to burn... as well as what program.

I assume you remember to put the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders in CAPS right?
