I have a rather large AVI file that I want to reduce in size by about 200megs. Going from 1,000 to 800 megs in size.
I have VirtualDub but not a lot of experience using it.
I loaded the filke and tried Save AVI as but the projected file size was almost 2,500 megs.
I tried the help section in Virtual Dub but I'm pretty lost. I know I have to use the "full stream setting" and that is no problem.
But do I have to compress the video and audo individually under those heading tabs? Also found a list of 'compressor' (I think they are codecs) files, which do I use?
I'm really lost. Anyone wanna talk a newbie step by step through this program?

Tell us what you intend to do with the final file.
That will suggest what to do -
