  1. Hi all,

Hope someone is able to help me with this...here goes :

I rip my dvd's with DVDDecrypter, shrink 'm with DVD2One and burn the VIDEO_TS/AUDIO_TS folders with Nero 5.5.1.0.2.8 and then they flicker on my standalone

But....the original DVD's dont flicker at all and when i check the generated VIDEO_TS folder by playing the files with PowerDVD the movies show no flickering on my pc monitor nor on my t.v. when using the tv-out on my graphics card.....the trouble starts when the DVD files are burned with Nero.

I tried about all sorts of things but whatever kind of DVD-R i try to burn Nero always give's the same result...( that i didnt had when using Ulead Moviefactory to make and burn SVCD-DVD's with it for instance).

Well, hope someone knows something about it, please feel free to advise.

    b.t.w. here's the config ;

    P4 1.8 Ghz
    Pioneer DVR 106D
    80 GB Seagate barracuda
    512 MB Ram
    Gforce 2 pro
    Windows ME
    DirectX 9
    All latest drivers

    Thanks in advance,

    Ray

    Define "flickering".

You see, "flickering" is something that your monitor or TV do, not something the DVD does.

Stuttering, pausing, corruption, stalling... might be things that the DVD does.

    1. Upgrade your Nero to v5.5.10.42

    2. Dump DVD2One for DVD Shrink (try v3.0 Beta 5, awesome)

  5. @Gurm - "flickering" as in stroboscopic effect. If the DVD player or DVD-R disk wouldnt do that and my tv set or monitor was the blame then why doesn't the original DVD movie flicker ?

@roach76 - I'll give DVD shrink a go then i guess, as well as update Nero.

    Thanks for the reply's all

  6. Here is my advice: Don't use Nero for burning dvds. Despite praise by some , users have reported any number of problems with Nero burning dvds. You will end up with many coasters. My personal reccomendation is to burn with clonedvd. Whether or not you transcode with it, which I don't, you can always burn with it. It has worked perfectly for me in the past, no coasters.

Well how about that. I thought it stopped at 42. I might as well upgrade.
