  1. I have some DVD's that I'd like to edit the music themes. how do I extract just the audio track from the DVD?

    What programs would I need?

    I have:

    Goldwave
    TMPenc
    DVD Decrypter
    DVD Shrink
    G Spot
    DVD2SVCD
    Virtual Dub

I thought prior to this that I had grabbed the audio track using VDub, but now I can't remember how I did it... if I did it at all with that one!

Thanks to all who take the time to reply!

  2. If you want the entire DVD or chapters use DVDDecrypter ,IFO Mode and select Stream Processing->Demux.
Then use AC3Tool to convert to WAV/MP3.
You can then use Audacity to add silence or whatever.

  3. rip the dvd with smart ripper, then use vob2audio http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/vob2audio.html to extract the audio from the vob files. then use cool edit or any other program to split the file into separate tracks. i have used this method and it works great.

    J T replies:

AC3 TOOL looked at the files I got from DVD Decrypter and put up a fuss that there was some sort of ERROR and then it closed!

    Now what do I do?

    thanks!

I use VIDOMI to make a PCM-AUDIO 44KHZ bearing AVI from the VOB

then I load the resultant AVI
(one big file the MOVIE's Length that's completely unplayably large in weight cause of the PCM audio but serves as my 'internegative' )
I load this AVI into PREMIERE and export timeline as WAV
or import to TMPGenc and render a WAV file

thus VIDOMI (free) has dealt with the AC3 to WAV conversion--
but kept the VIDEO so now you have to seperate out the VIDEO..lots of programs do this...but you must use VIDOMI on decryptedVOB's on the HARD DRIVE

    My approach is to:
    1) Rip the dvd to hd, rip in chapter mode if music DVD.
    2) Load the VOB(s) you want the audio from in DVD2AVI. Make sure "Decode" is selected under Audio -> Dolby Digital, then select "Save Project". This will leave you with the audio in wav format.

Make sure the extension is .AC3 instead of .VOB
    BTW...AC3Tool doesn't support DTS.

  8. AC3 TOOL wont work

    any other ideas?

i have a few music dvds, and i was looking to save the audio to a wav(or mp3)
but i dont want just record song by song with a recorder program

or to encode the whole audio file in one big file and then cut song by song

anyone know how to do it automatically?

    thanks

stk - why not put a little effort into it, and follow one of the many suggestions presented earlier in this thread? They do work.
