Hey guys,
Newbie here, so please bear with me. I am recording on my HS2 to DVD-RAM. From there I am transferring the DVD_RATV file to my hard drive. I then click 'add file' in TMPGEnc. I have a folder that is about 3.85 gigs big with about 20 individual clips on it. When I add the clip and go to edit it, the whole program is not there, just the first clip. I have been successful with one 45 minute program but what's up with the individual clips, won't it work or am i missing something? Thanks guys.

Also, the entire length is about two hours long. The clip that it imports is 8:52 long and has a snippet of almost every clip - wtf?

Had the exact problem with a dvd-ram recorded on a panasonic machine. The way we got it to work was by recording from start to finish without stopping and not editing afterwards. The .vro file then imported into tmpgenc dvd author just fine. We did pause and start recording again, but if you stop and start again or edit for some reason only part of the file will be read by tmpgenc.

Ulead VideoStudio offers DVD-VR support required to read the .VRO files.
The free trial download is here:
http://www.ulead.com/vs/trial.htm
For Ulead VIDEOSTUDIO 7:
1. Open Ulead VIDEOSTUDIO 7.0 and click FILE > CHANGE CAPTURE
PLUG-IN > ULEAD DVD-VR PLUG-IN.
2. Click the CAPTURE button step.
3. Click OPTIONS > VIDEO PROPERTIES.
4. Observe the dialogue box that allows you to browse to the location
of your DVD-RAM drive.
5. Click OK.
6. Click the CAPTURE VIDEO icon.
7. SELECT PLAYLIST dialogue appears.
8. Highlight the playlist you wish to edit and click NEXT.
9. Highlight the scene you wish to edit and click FINISH.
Now the .VRO file loads as an MPEG into your Ulead VIDEOSTUDIO 7.0
timeline for editing.
After you edit and then CREATE the final MPEG file, go to the EDIT
step and import the finished file and then click the EXPORT button and
then click ULEAD DVD-VR WIZARD.
This will then guide you through the steps to record the finished MPEG
back to the DVD-RAM disc in your DVD-RAM drive.
Now - to capture from a DVD-R disc - I use the same procedure in ULEAD
VideoStudio 7.
Except that instead of browsing to a DVD-RAM disc, I browse to the
location of the DVD-R disc.
I'm using Panasonic LF-D321 and Panasonic SW-9571 DVD-R/DVD-RAM/DVD-RW drives.
Panasonic's press release talks about this feature:

Thanks One Card and thank you Jerry for your expertise. I currently own DVD Workshop, should I try that instead of VideoStudio or are they two different animals? I record ALL of my stuff on DVD-RAM. I spent a week trying to get DVD Workshop to work for me but finally gave up when I found TMPGEnc. To tell you the truth, I don't even know if I'm doing it properly so let me explain and maybe I can get some input, I'm wondering if it is 'lossless'. Here's what I've been doing: I send the DVD_RATV file to my hard drive. I then open up the VRO file in TMPGEnc and do my editing. After that, it outputs a Video_TS / Audio_TS folder. I then burn a DVD from this folder. Is this the correct way of doing this? Is this what is considered 'lossless'. When I play back in my DVD player the Dolby Digital logo is displayed and the picture and sound are superb. If some of this sounds elementary please bear in mind I've only been at this for less than two weeks and owe a certain board member a huge thanks getting me this far. So am I doing this correctly and should I be using DVD Workshop instead of VideoStudio or are they two different animals? I want to thank you for taking the time out to help me. I'm anxiously awaiting your reply. Sam

Captain Satellite:
Try opening the .vro file in TMPGEnc DVD Author:
DON'T bother with moving any folders to your hard drive:
select "add DVD-Video"
Select the DVD_RTAV folder, TDA will then "reveal" the movie (or movies) recorded on the DVD-RAM. TDA will then ask you if you want to save the movie to your hard drive....do it - you can then edit and author at will.
If you've recorded multiple movies on a disc, TDA WILL locate them. The portions that you edited on the HR2 will add a chapter point that TDA will pick up.
Don't bother with any Ulead products that don't have AC3 encoding: TDA will be faster, without quality loss. -
The Ulead DVD-VR support is available in...
1. Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2
2. Ulead VideoStudio 7
3. Ulead MediaStudio Pro 7
It is not available in Ulead DVD Workshop.
