  1. Sorry for being a complete noob, but I've only just got a burner.

I'm trying to convert back from DivX format to something I can write to DVD with minimal loss during the conversion. I've read several DivX -> SVCD/VCD conversion tutorials, but I've not been able to make the leap in knowledge to get to the point were I can perform the process and write to DVD, or more o the point, multiple DVD disks.

So far I've used VirtualDub to extract the audio to a WAV file, then moved to TMPGEnc, using the original DivX as Video input and the extracted WAV file as the audio. I then get TMPGEnc to produce the m2v & mp2 files. I can even get to the point of encoding in DVD format (VIDEO_TS etc) by any of many routes (IfoEdit or others). I can then create a sinlge DVD (DVD2One or DVDShrink), but that often means further compression. However, the problem I can't grasp is when and how I need to split the materials such that I can create a multi-DVD movie.

At the moment I can get the material to the point of being in DVD format, but the data is too large to fit a single disc. How do I split it? As an example if I started with a single DVD-9 disk and ripped all the files, how would I go about writting it all to multiple disks (I'd like to keep the quality and content, so I don't want to shrink)? There doesn't seem to be a tutorial on this anywhere.

Thanks in advance for any replies.
