I cpatured Angel using virtualdub 1.4. I had it 320x240, the brightness to 138 everything else default, compression mjpeg quality 18, audio cd quality,29.97 frames a sec. I didn't use any filters because I don't quiet understand the settings for them. I have some info a guy sent me on how he captures buffy then makes SVCD's but the plugin's he used I don't know what settings to use. The de-interlaced area based filter and the telecide filter. I can't capture at 480x480 like he suggested (wintv go card, not the wintv pvr card). Anyway I have some screen shots to show ya guys, so maybe you can tell me where I need help. I want to get my captures crystal clear, but they look grainy and dark ( of course most of the shows on the WB are filmed at night and are very dark) but I just want them crystal clear and vibrant. So here is the address for the screenshots : http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/nick101181
They are sorta grainy but have tiny clear lines in them, (not interlaced lines, just sorta looks like interference lines( like if ya have the cable barely touching the input on a tv???) ) anyway thanks in advanced .

  2. I have the WinTV-Go myself and so far I am dissatisfied with it. Too grainy and dark (of course what do u want from a 35 dollar card) Today just for kicks I hooked up my Apex DVD player and just showed the title screen. Couldn't even get that to capture flawlessly. My guess is its a limitation on the card itself and most likely can't be helped.

Though if someone has gotten this card to work with a clear picture I would like to see it.

  3. Oh and btw to capture at 480 x 480 turn the overlay off in Virtual Dub(good idea to do this anyway). And try the Huffyuv codec, you may see some results there as well.

To be honest neither do I. I can smooth out cartoons descent but Live action I have yet to get the knack for.
