  1. Hi, I want to be able to use Virtuadub's screen capture ability but i'm only able to record a portion of it. I've had no trouble to do this in xp except that it wasn't a fast computer so i'm trying on my HP elite 375-a with ati radeon HD 5570 gpu, here's a screenshot

  2. Use Video -> Source... to set the coordinate of the top left corner. Use Video -> Set Custom Format... to set the capture window size.

  4. Are you trying to capture a game or something running full screen with DirectX? I don't think VirtualDub will work with that.

  6. I just had a thought that if I disabled the audio it might work and my hunch was right got my avi thanks for your time mate.
Off topic: if I wanted to have the audio encode in lame mp3 as none of the bcodecs that can with win7 work do i need to install the lameacm? It says I got AC3, DTS, and mp3 but none of them have audio profiles so can't use them.

  7. If you want to use 32 bit LAMEACM with 32 bit VirtualDub in 64 bit Windows you need to use a special installation method:

If you are using 64 bit VirtualDub in 64 bit Windows you need to install a 64 bit build of LAME.
