hey there, i've been looking among the newer 4x multiformat burners and i am incredibly eager to get one, however my computer is only 500 mhz pentium 3...some brands are saying that they're drives can work on a minimum of 450mhz(Sony's newest) and others like pioneer and tdk are "requiring" 800mhz pentium 3 systems.....basically i am not really planning on doing any major video editing and i'm just looking for more simplistic burning methods like nero backups and the like...out of the newer 4x multiformat burners, are there any that will work decently in my machine? or will i have to suck it up and just find myself a pioneer a04 or lower or something...thanx in advance-upchuck
System:
500mhz pentium 3
256mb ram
matrox g400max dual head graphics card
sb live value
win98se (i'm hoping to backup with this drive, format, then install xp pro)

why not find out what your mb can take and look arround for a cheap second hand cpu. plus if you want xp pro then 512mb is much better than 256mb.

you only need those screaming speed to use the upper burn speeds
We don't burn VCD's faster than 24 x anyway for accuracy so you'll be able to do that on a 450p3 no probs...
Buy any one of em but they just may never reach 52X
