I need a DVD burner that will accept the DVD authored "VIDEO_TS" file folder exported by Womble's "MPEG Video Wizard DVD" without re-encoding it. For that matter, I'd take a DVD burner that burned the single un-authored MPEG edited file exported by "MPEG Video Wizard DVD" without re-encoding it.

Are there DVD burners compatible with "MPEG Video Wizard DVD's" features? I've tried two that are not.

    Thanks.

I assume you mean a DVD burning program. A DVD burner itself is a mechanical device that will just burn what you feed it. The freeware ImgBurn would be my first choice for a burning program. Use the 'Build' mode or the GUI version of the same. Just add your VIDEO_TS folder and burn it.

ImgBurn has no encoder, so it can't do anything to the file. But if your VIDEO_TS folder is not DVD compliant, it may tell you. For the DVD specifications, format and structure, look to the upper left on this page for 'WHAT IS' DVD. If your file is not compliant you would have to fix it or it likely won't play properly anyway.

Authoring is not encoding. It just rearranges what you already have into the correct DVD structure.

You can also burn a MPEG file as data with ImgBurn. But many DVD players won't accept a unauthored file.

    What is your source ?
What are your encoding settings, if any, in Womble ?

I use Womble Mpeg Wizard regularly to trim and edit digital broadcasts. The mpegs are already DVD compliant prior to editing, and remain so throughout the process. While I have tried the DVD product (and had no trouble burning the results with Imgburn), I prefer to author using a more dedicated tool.

That said, you can over-ride the default settings, which may cause your output to be non-compliant, which will force other software to re-encode. Only you know what you are really doing though.
