  1. I have some .m2v video files + corresponding audio files in AC3 format.
I'm trying to burn them in DVD but ULead DVD Movie Factory2 doesn't recognise the. If I convert the AC3 to MP2 works just fine but I want to keep the sound in AC3 format. Any way to do that?? Or maybe I need to buy some other authoring software which does recognise the AC3 files???

  2. Not that this helps you but I have completely given up on any ULead products as they are either broken or are missing some important feature.

I believe NeoDVD will handle AC3 files.

There is a "way" around this. If you multiplex your M2V and AC-3 files into a single MPEG file then you CAN import that MPEG file into MF2

Now you will get an error message (at least the first time you do it) but don't worry ... as long as you don't EDIT in MF2 and only use it to create menus and custom chapter points etc. then the file will be authored correctly. The AC-3 sound will be passed through without problems. Just remember that you will NOT have any audio when doing a preview in MF2

One last thing ... to get this to work correctly you NEED to check the option that says something like this: DO NOT CONVERT DVD COMPLIANT FILES

    It's that easy

    P.S.
I use TMPGEnc Plus to multiplex the M2V and AC-3 into a single MPEG file

NeoDVD will re-encode your input even it if is DVD compliant to begin with. Obviously that is a BAD thing. NeoDVD is basically for newbies or those too lazy to use something like TMPGEnc or CCE
