Rip Issue

As previously posted I have tried to rip a bought dvd, origins unknown.
Having tried to rip this copy it freezes my drives. I have tried dvd decrypter and smartripper to no avail. Though therew is something that also puzzles me, the title has an added prefix to it eg. THE_MATRIX_SCN.
is there anyone experienced the same thing with maybe a solution!
Seems to me the piraters are protecting pirate copies too! :

gee, I wonder if that means it's the Matrix Reloaded Screener....humm....either way, I doubt that has anything to do with it...it's probably just a scratched disk....try some DVD cleaning solution and hopefully that will get your disk to fully rip.

I have had a few DVD's where one or two VOB file would lock the computer. What I do is just copy that VOB file to my hard drive and rip it from the drive which seems to work most of the time.

If this is a pirated copy (which I am in no way endorsing) the chances of hit having copy protection are slim....you shouldn't even need to use a ripper....you could literally just copy the files from the dvd to your hard drive
