help convert avi with ac3 to avi with joint stereo

hello all
i have a avi file with ac3, i want 2 know how to rip the sound
and convert it to simple stereo.
i tried to use virtualdub to rip the sound but it's cut in the end
( i lose a 2-3 min).
so some one can help me ?

p.s. i look over the furm but didn't find a good and simple answer
how to do this, so please try helping me

Use the divx with ac3 to vcd conversion guide to rip the ac3 sound to joint stereo using Vudb and Headac3he. I used it to convert minority report divx ac3 to SVD with joint stereo, but it should also work to create a new avi.
Then if I am not mistaken, it might work doing a direct stream copy using the wav file for audio. If the audio gets out of sync, you may have to do full stream processing.

i found the guide and it's perfect.

I just used Virtualdub Mod,
ripped audio into wav and loaded it up with video in tmpg, like i would do with any video, works fine

virtualdub mod worked for me too. In fact it was the only program that worked.
