  1. I want to take files that I recorded with my replayTV (which I am told are in MPEG-2 format) and convert them to MPEG-1 so I can burn them to VCD. Please help!

  4. If they are mpeg2 files that are readable or playable on the computer, all you need to do is get ahold of TMPEGenc. and use that. Run the wizard select video cd NTSC clip them whatever you need to do, let it run and encode, when it gets done you will have a burnable mpeg1 file. I cap mpeg2 and do this all the time with good results. Oh , you have to select all files as type in order to see the mpeg2 files when browseing for file. at least on my sys. you do. there are also some very good how to's on this site enjoy reading? you can learn alot. I've gotten pretty good just by reading about problems others have had and tweaking my way around programs to good results. I'm back learning more recenlty got a big screen and now some of my stuff doesn't look great on a bigger screen, looked better than store bought vcd's on the 27" but now not so good. Time to go read and play. Hope it helps you.

If its an mpeg2 you will need some sort of mpeg2 decoder on your computer for tmpgenc to read them - install poweredvd or windvd.

you must have the full version of tmpgenc to do mpeg2 also.

  7. its not a encoder issue... ReplayTV files are different for some reason.

I have yet to find success on using TMPGEnc...
    MPEG2VCR sucks at reencode.

anyone know how to use TMPGEnc with REplayTV Files?
