Hi, I'm a Smugmug user (photo sharing site) and would like to upload a few videos to my galleries. Unfortunately, the site requires the video to be mpeg-1 -- my video camera records in mpeg-4. Is there a way to use ffmpegx to convert my camera's mpeg-4 files to mpeg-1? I tried checking out the quick format options, but can't seem to find anything suitable. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated! If ffmpegx won't work, can anyone recommend a freeware solution on the Mac? (I'm currently using ffmpegx 0.0.9x)

Try a VCD preset, which is MPEG-1. You may uncheck "Author as" in the Options tab, so the output will be an .mpg file, which won't be post-processed to a VCD image.
