I have a file that has a frame rate of 23.97 and I want to be able to play it on a ntsc dvd player. I'm using TMPGenc and I tried interlace and non-interlace with 3:2 pulldown and I got horizontal lines. Also what settings do I use when I have a pal file that has a frame rate of 25. And what do I do if I have a file that already has a frame rate of 29.97 do I just choose the dvd ntsc template in TMPGenc. I have read about frame serving and was wondering if that is what I need to do.![]()

For 23.976 fps -> 29.97 fps for DVD:
- Video tab:
"23.976 (internally 29.97 fps)"
"3:2 pulldown when playback"
- Advanced tab:
"Non-interlace"
Field order is not applicable and doesn't matter.
Do NOT check any filters that affect the frame rate or interlace.
PAL 25 fps -- I don't know.
Try TMPGEnc's project wizard (from the File menu) to sort out these things and then look at what settings it uses.
Frameserving shouldn't have anything to do with your frame rate issue.
