I have several divx movies that i am trying to burn onto dvd. standard 4.7gb dvdr can fit something like 120-150 minutes of video, however i have movies longer then that. theoretically, since dvdr holds 4.7 gb, and dvd players can read vcds, is there any possible way of putting 4.7 gb worth of vcd's onto a dvdr and still have a dvd player read this? does anyone have a link for a guide for this or something?

i also have a few of the movies that are 16:9, but show up in full screen, so the picture is vertically stretched out and is very annoying. which settings do i need to plug into tmpegenc to convert the video to 16:9 with the black horisontal bars on the top and bottom? i realize that to do this, i will have to convert the video to mpeg, but i plan on doing that anyway.

thanks in advance for your replies.

Itīs all about quality. If you sacrifice quality you can fit alomost how much you want on a dvd.........

I canīt answer that, it depends on what sofware you are using, what source you have, what quality you want etc....

Why donīt you do a forum search..I have seen threads about this before.

If you want to store more(4 hours or more) on a dvd use then lower resolutions and low bitrates(vcd and svcd bitrates). The quality will then be the same as vcd, svcd, cvd. DVD supports both mpeg1 352x288/240 and mpeg2 352x576/480. You can choose those resolutions in the tmpgenc wizard.

And PLEASE also tell us what tools and settings you use now.
