Hello I am a switcher to the mac platform and I imported a movie to imovie 3. I saved it as VCD for toast but the quality was horrible. Anyone know how I can get a better quality VCD? I have tried some tools, like ffmpeg, and missingmpegtools, but everytome I try to do it, a terminal window pops up and I get know where. I just want something that works ...thanks

make a svcd if your dvd player can handle it.
if its analog footage that you imported from digital cam. then this is the best way to go in my opinion. i tried everything nobody else has an answer!
remember its not going to be better then your analog video it will be a bit worse cause its compressed like 10 times as much lol
try it

you can make a vcd with this process aswell...
The terminal window pops up cause it starts to encode the video in that. just takes forever if your running a slow mechine, let it do its job youll have an mpg. -
Use ffmpegX to convert to VCD format (with the presets menu at the bottom). This gives you vastly superior quality to Toast's terrible, terrible VCD encoder component for QuickTime.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."
