  1. I'm fairly new at the VCD stuff, and I was trying to convert a video i have from 25 fps to the NTSC film standard. I followed the Guides, but when I converted the audio (first using Goldwave, then Cool Edit 2 Pro), the programs would crash after converting with trying to save. Do i need some sort of plugins for these to work?

  2. kwanjuju - are the audio editors crashing when you try and load an .avi into them? if so, you might want to use VirtualDub to split the audio from the video file before loading it into goldwave/cooledit.

VirtualDub could also search your video file for errors (under the video menu), and if there is a problem, DivFix might be able to sort it out for you (assuming it's a DivX file you're trying to convert).

GSpot would tell you what format the audio is in your file - and should show you if there's a problem with a codec you don't have etc..

Look in the tools section of this site for these programs if you haven't come across them yet.

    cheers,

  3. Here's the thing. I split the audio and video in Virtual Dub. I used Vdub to convert the video, then was trying to use CoolEdit to warp the audio time. It warps just fine, plays back just fine in CoolEdit, but when i try and save the changed audio, the program stops responding...I had the same problem doing it in Goldwave.

  4. Oh, and if it helps you to know, i made a PAL vcd of the movie i'm trying to convert (Boondock Saints) which will play with Power DVD, but it wont play in the Mintek DVD i'm using (it could be a junker TV...), so i assume the original .avi isn't corrupted.
