  5. Try a forum search is just part of my signature it is on every post i make. Like I said you have not used a compliant resolution. If you are making VCD load the appropriate VCD template in TMPGEnc. This will have all the setting to enable you to create a compliant mpeg. You just need to choose between pal ntsc or ntscfilm

  9. The bitrate depends on the length of the film and whether you want to fit it on 1 disc or not. Higher bitrate = bigger file. Use a bitrate calculator (see tools section) to determine the maximum bitrate you can use and still get the video to fit on 1 disc.

  11. would this b an compliant file:MPEG-2 720x576 25fps CBR 5300kbps, Linear PCM 48000Hz 1536kbps

  12. I would suggest using a vbr bitrate, that way the bitrate is allocated where it is most needed, something like 8000 max 5000 avg and 2000 min, for even better quality you can use 2 pass, but this will double the encode time. Where did you get those audio settings TMPGEnc encodes to mpeg-1 audio layer I or II, with a default of 384kbps. Using PCM audio takes up a lot of space on the DVD and is unecessary

  13. tmpgenc done all the settings for me. is best to use the wizierd in tmpgenc or do it my self

  14. What I do is use the wizard, then change a few settings, such as bitrate, video arrange method and motion search precision.

  15. but when u use the wizared u cant change the settings can u?i thought the only way ucould change the settings is to cancel the wizerd then load the dvd template then load the unlock

  16. Yes you can change settings, such as bitrate. The settings you can't change are those that would cause the mpeg to no longer be DVD compliant. Resolution for example. If you tried it for yourself you would see this to be the case.

This would be a compliant file, you can change the bitrate to suit the length of video. I.E get it to fit on 1 disc. The shorter the film, the higher the bitrate you could use, more bitrate=greater quality, providing you have a good source.
