  1. Is there a program, or is it even possible, to convert a stereo wav or mp3 file into some form of 6ch ac3. I thought perhaps Scenarist could do it but I had no luck.

  2. I am having a similar issue, I rip a dvd from the origional and then use dvd2avi to get the sound track off but its only in 2 channel pcm. I dont know if you are ripping off origional dvd's but that would be the best way to do it. I have used all the tutorials but it still does not work. If anyone has these issues please reply so we can figure this out. Am I using the wrong settings in dvd decrypter or dvd2avi? Can I make the *.wav file into a dolby digital 5.1 (*.ac3) or dts? Thanks for any help from anyone.

well you could convert a stereo wav file to 6 mono channels and encode it to 5:1

but that is not surround sound and in some cases can make it sound worse ..

if you know what you are doing - there are ways to re-mix a stereo to surround sound .. though using mp3 as the source is poor idea IMO ..

there are many ac3 encoders -- do a search here for the names of some of them ..

there are only 2 DTS (dvd type) encoders - both are very expensive ..

  6. I tried using BeSweet but the file is not accepted by Dvd Maestro. Can you rip the ac3 track off the origional?
